###### MIAMI (September xx, 2022) –
Sony Music Entertainment Latin-Iberia [formally] announced today the launch of new label 5020 Records. It will be led by respected executives Rafa Arcaute and Bruno Duarte as Co-Presidents. 

Under this newly established banner, 5020 Records is now home to [an inaugural roster] of international stars such as Residente, Kany García, TINI, Trueno, C. Tangana, and Nathy Peluso as well as recent signing Beéle. Additionally, the team will contribute A&R support to powerhouse artists on Sony Music Entertainment Latin-Iberia, including Shakira, Chayanne, and Christina Aguilera on the Latin side.

Regarding the introduction of 5020 Records, Afo Verde, Chairman and CEO, Sony Music Latin-Iberia commented, “Like it’s sibling label Sony US Latin, 5020 Records is going to be a force in Latin music!  With the powerful fusion of established and up-and-coming talent on our roster, plus the dynamic leadership, creativity, and dynamic energy of Rafa and Bruno I have full confidence in the success of this new label.” [OPTIONAL QUOTE]

Arcaute added, “It’s an honor that Afo and Rob Stringer have entrusted us with this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We’re going to build 5020 into a bastion for trailblazing innovative artists!” [OPTIONAL QUOTE]

Duarte agreed, “We’ve got the chance to make a major impact, and we’re humbled to have the support of Afo, Rob, and the entire Sony Music family worldwide. This is the beginning of something special.” [OPTIONAL QUOTE]

On behalf of 5020 sibling label Sony Music US Latin, President Alex Gallardo expressed, “We’re very excited to welcome 5020 Records to the Sony Music Latin family. Rafa, Bruno and their team can count with our support every step of the way. I have no doubt that we are going to do amazing things together.”

Most recently, Arcaute (a 17-time Grammy winner) was VP, A&R at Sony Music Entertainment Latin-Iberia, while Duarte was VP, Finance at Sony Music Entertainment Latin-Iberia.
Growing up in Buenos Aires and gaining experience as an engineer, keyboardist, music director, arranger, songwriter, producer, and manager, Arcuate’s work and reputation expanded beyond Argentina when he met Residente of Calle 13 in 2007. They worked closely together on albums for Calle 13 and Residente's solo career. Arcaute's success with Residente and other Latin acts caught the attention of Afo Verde in 2018. The Chairman & CEO of Sony Music Latin-Iberia took Arcaute under his wing and appointed him VP A&R at Sony Music Latin-Iberia. In the past three years, Arcaute has taken legacy artists at Sony Music Latin to new levels while helping the fresh new artists at the label become stars. In total, Arcaute has received 17 Latin GRAMMY Awards and one GRAMMY Award.
Hailing from Rio de Janeiro, Bruno gravitated towards music since his childhood, playing bass in over 500 shows with his pop rock band. He eventually landed at Sony Music Entertainment, learning the ins and outs of royalties and financial reports. He parlayed this opportunity into a 15-year career at one of the world’s largest music companies. In 2020, Bruno transitioned from the Finance department to Senior Director of A&R for Latin America, Spain, and Portugal. Drawing on his expertise in the Brazilian market, he ushered a new generation of stars to the forefront. He participated in the singing, development, and rollout of A-list acts such as Luan Santana, Luísa Sonza, and TINI. Plus, he guided the impactful international collaboration between Ziggy Marley, Natiruts, and Mexican actress Yalitza Aparicio on “América Vibra” completed by cover art from renowned street artist Eduardo Kobra.
